After fourteen years of civil war, peace has come to Liberia! The devastating conflict, which left 250,000 dead and hundreds of thousands displaced, is over, leaving Liberia to rise again on a path towards recovery under the strong leadership of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

EQUIP Liberia is supporting clinics and communities and has trained over 6,000 volunteer Community Health Ambassadors who transform, teach, heal, serve and bring faith to families in their own communities. The justice system is being strengthened and ex-combatants are being counseled and going back to school. Clean drinking water is being supplied to many villages and sanitation systems are improving.

Work is being done to repair the fractured health care infrastructure and address pressing issues such as a lack of qualified health workers as we move from an emergency to development phase. Great progress is being made, but much remains to be done. Please click on the links to learn more about EQUIP’s work and how you can be involved.
