The destruction in Ganta is seen everywhere, outside this destroyed mosque this boy played on old vehicles. Teddy was a severely malnourished two year old brought to us just recently. The second picture was taken just six weeks after he started our Come Eat at My Table program. Sarah, Jody and Audry organize the many boxes of drugs to go out to clinics around Nimba County.
The Equip Shelter in Hope Village, Ganta. Equip has a clinic in the front room and the back rooms house widows and orphans.. IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) have been forced to leave their homes. They could only take what they could carry, and the rest would be almost guaranteed to be looted by soldiers. Jefferson and James are malnourished children from Wuo's Town. Jefferson is 5, James 4.
During the recent riots in Monrovia there were many vehicles stopped on the road and completely destroyed and burned. Dave and Menwoh in Ganta. It is impossible to be in a bad mood around Menwoh, our Chief of Security. Martha is the mother of a couple of children on Come Eat at my Table. She is learning how to properly feed and care for her children.
This couple was our neighbours in Monrovia and during the fighting in August 2003 a mortar destroyed their home and killed their six children. The Equip vehicles can face any challenge! Well, almost any...
