Dave and Audry Waines grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Dave has a bachelor's degree in education and did graduate studies at Regent College in Vancouver. Audry is a registered nurse with post graduate studies in International Health at Seneca College in Toronto.

At Christmas, 1985 Dave had a vision of the work he would be doing in bringing healing to suffering children and communities in Liberia. He arrived in Ganta, Liberia in April of 1986. In 1987 Dave and Audry married and continued implementing integrated community health and development projects in Liberia, Guatemala, Ivory Coast, and Sierra Leone. Together they founded Equip Liberia in 1997 and have been working full time in Liberia since then.

David and Audry have six children, Janelle, Menwoh, Daniel, Joshua, Matthew, and Rebecca. Watch Equip's video to find out more about the family and what they have been doing.
